Southern Coast Charters wish to thank all those that have supported our business over the last 10+ years and whilst we are sad to be saying goodbye, its time for skipper Barry to put his feet up & enjoy retirement.
Bookings are now CLOSED - Current bookings in the next few weeks will run as planned (weather permitting) and the 'Southern Explorer' will depart Port Fairy after the 3rd December bound for Vanuatu! So if you're ever in Vanuatu you may see her operating as a charter boat with her new owners!
From her initial design and build on our property in Timboon to the waters of Port Fairy, it has been a wonderful journey and we have loved all the fishing trips over the years. We leave with many fond memories of the smiles on peoples faces when they landed a fish, a variety of fish, some monster barrels, surprising catches from the deep and overall our many wonderful deck hands over the years. You can organize your own group or book as an individual and we will put a group together for a King Island Fishing Adventure from 4 to 5 days including {Fishing & touring or Diving} for groups of up to 9 passengers, departing from Port Fairy Wharf.

4 Day Fishing Adventure Charter to King Island
Departing Port Fairy Thursday Night and returning Monday. (Due to wind forecasts try to be flexible with departure and return days) We try to pick the best weather possible around King Island to make for the ost enjoyable fishing experience for you!
Day 1: Wake up on Friday morning off King Island. After breakfast we will fish for the day on the deeper reefs targeting Tassie Trumpeter and School Shark. If seas are not favourable we will fish around King Island in more sheltered waters targeting Flathead, Snapper, King Fish etc.
Day 2: After Breakfast, we'll spend the day fishing. If we missed fishing the deeper reefs on day , we have the option depending on wind direction and strength of trying for Tassie Trumpeter or Nannygai and Snapper. Otherwise we would fish the inshore reefs targeting Snapper, Flathead, King Fish & Gummies. Later in the day we anchor up for the night in a sheltered bay for more fishing and relaxation.
Day 3: After Breakfast, a days fishing for something not yet targetted around the island and anchoring up at night in a sheltered area, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere around King Island.
Day 4 : After breakfast, if seas are favourable a but more fishing before heading back to the Port Fairy Wharf.

5 DAY FISHING ADVENTURE CHARTER TO KING ISLAND
Departing Port Fairy Thursday Night and returning Tuesday. (Due to wind forecast try to be flexible with departure and return days) We try and pick the best weather possible around King Island for a most enjoyable fishing experience.

Day 2: After Breakfast, we go ashore at Currie to take a tour of King Island in a 12 seater bus, which includes a stop at the Cheese Factory for cheese purcahses and refreshments at the Cape Wickham Golf Club. You can also have a meal and beer at the Currie Pub after the tour. We try to do the tour on a day when the weather is less favourable for fishing. Meals and Drinks whilst on the island are at your own expense.
Day 3: After Breakfast, we'll spend the day fishing. If we missed fishing the deeper reefs on day 1, we have the option depending on wind direction and strength of trying for Tassie Trumpeter or Nannygai and Snapper. WHAT TO BRING ON YOUR FISHING CHARTER
Seasonal suitable clothing, shorts (in Summer) Spray jacket, waterproof or deck shoes, hat, sunscreen, seasickness tablets, sunglasses, camera, esky, 240 volt chargers for phones/cameras or feel free to bring your laptop or any other electronic devices. Don’t forget your toothbrush & sleeping/quilt. Pillow is provided.
